Dishwasher repair
No water coming in, a cloudy film on every glass or a beeping panel? A local technician comes to your home, tests the dishwasher and explains the fix before any work starts.
Open a question to see the usual causes and a quick check you can safely do yourself. If it does not help, call us and tell us what you found.
The valve under the dishwasher opens to let water in. If its coil fails or the screen clogs, the tub stays dry.
The float tells the dishwasher when the tub is full. If it sticks up, the dishwasher thinks it is already full.
A water line bent behind the dishwasher, or a shut-off valve under the sink left closed, stops the water before it gets in.
Check that the shut-off valve under the sink is fully open. Look for the float in the front corner of the tub and make sure it moves up and down freely.
Minerals in the water dry onto glass and plastic and build up in the spray arms over time.
Without rinse aid, water dries in spots and streaks instead of sheeting off the dishes.
If the water never gets hot enough, detergent does not dissolve fully and leaves a powdery film.
Fill the rinse aid dispenser and run an empty cycle with a dishwasher cleaner. Run the kitchen tap until the water is hot before you start a load.
If the latch switch loses contact, the dishwasher thinks the door opened and pauses the cycle.
This safety part cuts the heat if the tub gets too hot. When it trips, many models stop the cycle.
A failing board can lose its place in the cycle and stop at random points, often with a code or flashing light.
Open and close the door firmly until the latch clicks. Make sure no tall pan or utensil is blocking the door or the spray arms.
Water in the base pan sets off the leak sensor, and the dishwasher stops and drains as a safety measure.
A blocked filter slows draining, and many models flash a drain warning when the water does not leave in time.
If the lights flash in a pattern after a reset, the board is reporting a fault code we can read on site.
Count the beeps or flashes and note the pattern. Clean the filter at the bottom of the tub. Switch the dishwasher off at the breaker for five minutes and try again.
